Well... we did it. We released the album. We played a show. It's out there now!

You can find the CDs over on our merch page. They look AWESOME, we'd have to recommend adding one to your collection.

You can stream it on Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, Apple Music, and a dozen other platforms.

You can buy a digital copy on iTunes, Google Play, or Amazon.

As always you can download it for free straight from us.

Bottom line is: we want you to have it in whatever way is most convenient for you. We hope you enjoy it, and please help spread it around if you do!

We've been teasing a new album for a long time...

A really long time. Sorry about that.

Life got in the way for a while, but we're happy to report that a lot of progress has been made in the last several weeks regarding mixing and mastering.

Each step of this process spawns new ideas and rabbit-holes to explore, but that is what makes it fun!

We are going to get this thing out there as soon as humanly possible, promise!

From now until the album release, anyone who signs up for the mailing list will receive a preview track.

We are dying to share, yet want to hold off until it's all finished.
This approach has always paid off in the end!

Kayli threw down two more songs over Christmas break in the brand new Creature People studio (aka the basement of Ian's new house).

This new album has been a long time in the making, and at times seems like it will never be here. Living in separate states while both having full-time jobs makes any time we get to spend working on this special, and we can't wait until it's ready to share!

We're now up to 14 songs that could potentially go on it, which will most likely be narrowed down to 12 for the final release. Lots of tracking and mixing left for Ian to do still, but the end result feels like it's finally within reach.

Combining classical guitar and quirky, sugar-sweet vocals for a folk-infused brand of indie. “West Cozy” is the title track from the band’s 2015 release and leaves on with the impression that is was created by fairyfolk from some unseen realm of magic rather than actual human beings from Pittsburgh. Creature People‘s Dark Ambitions is based on a recent trip to New York city.

It’s uncertain what went down in the Big Apple but as the track comes to a close, vocalist Kayli sings “dark ambitions are running this town, I don’t think I’ll stick around.” What happened? You decide!

The brother sister duo – Kayli and Ian – are a strange duo combining a 60s folk sound and awkward, haunting female vocals that make for an intriguing mix. It’s almost unnerving to listen at first but after a few plays, you’ll become utterly enchanted with the darkness that surrounds Creature People.

“West Cozy” – Creature People. By chance, I stumbled upon this text-based adventure game while I was listening to the song. Creature People’s mysterious, woodsy folk was the perfect accompaniment to a game that slowly unfolds itself as an adventure.

Ian has made the trek to Pittsburgh to begin recording a new album and to play some shows. We have 3 live dates this week in Pittsburgh at Biddle's Escape (Thursday 30th), The Coffee Buddha (Friday 31st), and Bayardstown Social Club (Monday 3rd). Check out the shows page for more info.

The live rig is finally complete.

First, the pickup. I've never liked the dulled sound of an acoustic instrument through a piezo pickup. I found an alternative: Myers Pickups. This thing is an isolated condenser microphone on a gooseneck working as an active pickup, and it sounds great. The character of the uke really comes through when amplified.

Also pictured is the Fishman Loudbox Artist acoustic amp, and the Line 6 M13 effects processor.

Hello World,

I am very thankful to be blogging for the first time. It offers proof that I truly do exist. It's a chance to discuss very important issues with all the people that read (probably just myself and maybe my brother.) Issues such as;

The weird goo that I just found underneath my fridge while cleaning. It may have been alive.
My youngest cat toots really smelly toots sometimes, and I've never experienced cat farts before. They are a rarity it seems, and I'd prefer they stay that way.
Most importantly issues regarding a parallel universe! Yes, I've just tapped into a crack in time, and realized that I've already existed before! See for yourself... Here I am singing through the body of some other lady about a subject I am very passionate about, basic math.
